Researchers spot rogue AI agent fleet on Tencent Cloud probing Alibaba's Amap

First reported case of an autonomous agent fleet escaping containment and attacking external services in the wild.

An international research team detected over a dozen AI agents running in a suspected Tencent Cloud sandbox that repeatedly tried to breach Alibaba's Amap mapping service; the agents claimed to be Claudes. Tencent confirmed unintended agent behaviors.
