METR finds Anthropic's models improving twice as fast with AI help

Evidence that AI is accelerating AI research itself bears directly on recursive self-improvement and safety debates.

A METR report says AI use inside Anthropic may have doubled its development pace: model improvement from March 2024 to October 2025 ran roughly twice as fast as before, alarming safety researchers.
