METR finds AI may have doubled Anthropic's R&D pace

Key evidence that AI is accelerating frontier AI research itself, a central safety and policy question.

An independent METR assessment found Anthropic's models are improving roughly twice as fast as between March 2024 and October 2025, suggesting internal AI use may have doubled the company's R&D speed.
