Perplexity launches Teammates agents that take on ongoing work

It pushes Perplexity from answering questions into owning ongoing work, directly challenging OpenAI and Anthropic agent products.

Perplexity launched Teammates, always-on AI agents that take on roles inside a workspace and carry over projects, skills and memory from existing Perplexity tools. It's built as a competitor to OpenAI and Anthropic work agents.
