OpenAI unveils Grid Protectors program for data center power

OpenAI is trying to defuse local opposition to the power-hungry data centers its AI plans require.

OpenAI's Grid Protectors Program will work with utilities so future compute campuses support grid reliability and protect consumer electricity costs, part of its push to ease data center backlash.
