Mistral releases Le Chonk, 1T open-weight model

A 1T open-weight release from Mistral would be among the largest openly downloadable models.

Reports say Mistral released Le Chonk, a 1-trillion-parameter open-weight model, and that Mistral Large 4 adds multimodal inspection for engineering workflows and has been benchmarked against Claude Opus 5.5. Mistral models also run aboard the first satellite of a 50-satellite AI constellation.
