Anthropic targets 7 gigawatts of compute next year

A 7GW compute target shows how much capital and power frontier labs need to keep scaling.

Anthropic aims to double computing capacity to 7 gigawatts next year, per an NYT report. Other reports said Amazon owns a $6.2 billion stake and that Anthropic swung to an operating loss as a large compute bill looms over its IPO.
