Anthropic launches message threads for Claude agents

Reduces token resends for long-running agents, cutting cost and latency for agent builders.

Anthropic added message threads to its Messages API in public beta, letting agents send a conversation once and then only new messages, cutting Claude Code wait time by up to 35%; it is on by default in Claude Code.
