Nvidia unveils prototype CPO optics-on-interposer for AI networking

Optical interconnects are becoming critical as AI clusters scale and hit power limits.

Nvidia detailed next-generation co-packaged optics that place optical engines on the interposer instead of organic substrates, with prototype samples ready. The design is reported to use about 3.5x less power.
