Anthropic, Suno sued over songs by Madonna, Johnny Cash

Music-label litigation against AI generators is expanding and could set licensing precedent.

A lawsuit alleges Anthropic and Suno unlawfully used songs by Madonna, Johnny Cash and Joni Mitchell, with companies fighting subpoenas in Suno's case against Universal and Sony. Separately, eight states filed coordinated suits against OpenAI over ChatGPT safety failures.
