Nvidia unveils OOI co-packaged optics prototype at SEMICON West

Co-packaged optics could lift bandwidth for post-2028 AI factories.

Nvidia showed an Optics-on-Interposer prototype moving optical engines onto the silicon interposer for higher bandwidth, and plans with SPIL to expand CPO capacity 15x by mid-2027.
