Samsung taps TSMC 3nm for Nvidia HBM base dies, report says

HBM4 base-die sourcing shapes who controls supply of the memory that AI accelerators need.

Samsung is reportedly turning to TSMC's 3nm process for base dies of Nvidia custom HBM, abandoning its turnkey integration model to win supply-chain place. Nvidia lined up six suppliers to expand substrate, packaging and testing capacity.
